Dan began his coaching career with PPH in 2006 and has since accumulated more than 20,000 hours of player development experience. Over the course of his career, he has trained more than 150 athletes who have gone on to play college baseball, as well as six MLB Draft selections and a number of independent league players.
Since 2021, Dan has also coached at the NCAA Division II level. He launched his collegiate coaching career at Bloomfield College, where he helped the Bears’ offense set new program records for home runs in each of his three seasons working with the hitters. During that stretch, one of his players broke both the career and single-season home run and RBI records and was named the 2023 CACC Player of the Year.
Dan then moved to Georgian Court University as Associate Head Coach to help build the program from the ground up for its inaugural 2025 season. In the program’s first year, Georgian Court produced its first independent league player under Dan’s guidance, with him directing the offense and position-player development.
With experience coaching hitters from age five through the professional ranks, Dan brings a comprehensive, results-driven approach that allows Long Ball Army athletes to become a force at every level of competition.
In the summer of 2017 Dan put together a small group of elite college hitters to form a training environment unlike any other. The small group trained and obsessed over their swings even when the guys were back at their schools with a common interest of helping each other take their careers as far as they possibly could. The group included 2 guys that went on to play professional baseball, and 2 that have continued on to coach college baseball.
Today the Long Ball Army represents a culture in hitting. As the membership grows, the community strengthens. The veteran members of the LBA are able to mentor the younger generation of hitters coming by sharing their experiences, hitting philosophies, training techniques and general life advice. The Long Ball Army goes far beyond baseball.
